Dave Grohl – Another Man Only Sorry Because He Got Caught

Last night Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl published a statement on his Instagram:

‘I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her,’ he wrote. ‘I love my wife and my children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness. We’re grateful for your consideration toward all the children involved, as we move forward together.’

So far so very mature, right?

But I can’t help but wonder how much of this ‘togetherness’ his wife has been a part of, I mean, was there a lot of ‘togetherness’ when he was sloping off to have unprotected sex with another woman? Was there much ‘togetherness’ when he slipped back into his marital bed and then had sex with his wife, presumably telling her he’d been sleeping with other women so she could then make her own decisions about how well her sexual health was protected?

I think we can safely assume that the very fact he is now ‘rebuilding trust’ indicates that his wife was certainly not aware of his ‘togetherness’ with another woman. The fact his kids shut their Instagram accounts overnight gives an indication of how lovey-dovey this new blended family really is.

I doubt very much Dave Grohl will be rebuilding anything, I doubt that years as a frontman of a band – and formally a drummer in one of the biggest bands in the world – means that he has to face the consequences of his actions… well, ever. I think he has probably always cheated, and he will probably always continue to cheat (his mother said before her death that his infidelity concerned her). The fact is this time he just got caught and that is the only reason he is being ‘honest’ now, because as I have said previously these types of men are only sorry when they get caught, not when they’re off having fun with other women.

If there is one thing I know about cheating ‘rock stars’ – whatever statements they put out to the contrary to make the public feel better and save their reputation – it is that they certainly do not change their ways. Why should they? Their ways are working just fine for them.
