What a great start we had to the White Ink Feminist Essay Club last month, and here we are again to see what and who we will be acquainting ourselves with for July’s meet up.
First up, if you haven’t caught up with June’s meet, you can do so here.
Feminist Essay Club #1
Tonight we gathered for my inaugural Feminist Essay Club where we kicked things off by discussing Hélène Cixous’ The Laugh of the Medusa.
Remember that you need to be a paid subscriber to have Feminist Essay Club included in your subscription, and you can upgrade here:
So following on from June’s essay in some ways, and Hélène Cixous’ plea for women to write with their ‘white ink’, it seemed to me that it would make sense to move on from that thinking to the third wave, which is credited with women actually putting into practice using personal narrative to effect change.
Below the paywall I will introduce you to the feminist we are going to be looking at this month, and the essay that I have chosen. Plus there are the zoom details to join our meeting on Sunday July 27th at 7pm (London time — please check your timezone as we are currently in BST here in the UK).
There will be a recording for those who can’t make it live, so you’ll be able to catch up on our discussion and join in the comments whichever timezone you’re in. So here is the link to the essay, and the zoom:
