Join My White Ink Feminist Essay Club

This week we have a new addition to White Ink and it is the launch of my new Feminist Essay Club.

This reading club will initially run as a little taster for the next three months, reading a different feminist essay each month, then gathering together to discuss the arguments made within it and looking more closely at the writing craft of the author who penned it.

This will be a way of getting to know some of the classic feminist essays that have shaped our lives and literature, as well as looking at their modern counterparts.

I know many of you have been wanting a series from me taking a closer look at the essay in terms of style and writing tips, and so this is something which I hope you will enjoy.

I’m offering this Feminist Essay Club inclusive of your paid subscription, so if you are already a paid subscriber, there is nothing more you need to do except read the essay and join our meet-up.

During the middle of each month, I will send you the essay to digest before our zoom meeting. Please do ensure that you have read the essay before coming along to the meet-up as you will get so much more out of it that way — I’m saying that as someone who has tried to listen with one ear to the conversation and desperately read what I should have done beforehand in class. But I am sure you are all much more organised than me!

The Feminist Essay Club will meet on zoom on the last Sunday of each month at 7pm (London time). It will be a recorded discussion so if you miss it you can always catch up later, this also means that those for whom the timezone doesn’t work can still join us by watching the recording and continuing the conversation in the comments — you know I always love to hear your thoughts.

Our first meeting will be Sunday June 29th.

I’m really looking forward to this new White Ink offering, not only because I would like to get to know these essays a little better myself, but because our conversations are always hugely interesting and intelligent and I know you will have so much to offer.
