Ok, so forgive me, I’ve not done one of these videos before and I’m hoping I don’t look totally awkward, but I wanted to find a way to introduce myself – the fully animated version of me – to subscribers who haven’t met me before.
I also forgot (of course I did!) loads of things I wanted to say about my monthly Write With Me Club, but I’ve put all you need to know underneath …
So this is how it works, each month we have a theme and February’s theme, as I explain in the video, is desire. So I will talk with you on this topic, sharing wisdom from other writers and talking through any exercises for you to try. We will also have a bit of a catch up, and they’ll be a chance to join the discussion with
and I hearing more from us about our Memories of the Future letter writing series (Lily’s first letter to me is here), and – perhaps most importantly – telling us what you think. My Write With Me Club takes place on the first Monday of every month at 7pm GMT. I send out the zoom invitation to paid subscribers at midday on that day (tomorrow) so if you would like to join us, and I hope you will, you will need to be a paid subscriber by then.
Not only do I teach you something of what I know on writing, but it is a great chance to join a like-minded community of writers and readers from the comfort of your home – and all for 96p a week. It also gives writers that accountability and I am more than happy to help you set writing targets.
There are also other perks to becoming a White Ink member, including access to more than 25 guest author essays, and other writing craft and personal essays in my archive. You are also supporting my work by showing your appreciation for my words and for that I am extremely grateful – thank you so much to my current members.
Here is the link to upgrade should you need it:
I hope to see many of you there, in my kitchen, tomorrow!
Gutted I can’t make this one. I’ll definitely be there next time. In my absence I thought I’d mention a book I’ve recently read that made me think about desire in relationships - how the initial romantic and passionate desires morph into expectations; how desire for personal growth can cause problems, especially when our partner sees us a particular way and believes we are a certain kind of person. All such interesting topics!
The book is called Foe by Iain Reid and it is a brilliant and philosophical take on wants and desires in a long term relationship. Read it!
See you soon x
Had a chuckle at the ‘sex participating’ part...must now go subscribe! What a beautiful voice you have x
