Two weeks ago, I started our last Sunday Shelfie by asking those in the UK if you had weathered Storm Bert, and this week I start the same way with Storm Darragh.
Not surprisingly our bookshelves are almost the same (except for the poetry - I do have a lot of contemporary poetry but I never studied literature - I went to Art College…) and like you, my books reflect my journey through life - but I’ve always had a lot of fiction but these are the books I’ve mostly let go. As a self-reflective exercise I’m going to answer Anna’s questions (and pretend for a moment that I’m a real author and people might be interested in my book shelf…) Ha!
Thanks for an interesting selection, Anna and Milli. Love’s Executioner: and other tales of psychotherapy by Irvin Yalom is one of my favourite non-fiction books, too! Reminds me to re-read it.
I think I have three of his which are all tales of psychotherapy, but that was the first one I read, so stuck with me. Off to the shelves to check. (I’m similarly fascinated by Couples Therapy on TV!)
I really did enjoy being a therapist and the way it made my mind work analytically, not to Yalom's standard I'm sure but the work is very similar to writing in that you are seeing symbolism in stories and connecting up threads. I miss it sometimes x

Answer them and publish on your substack, Lynn. I’d love to read your answers!
What a great idea… that’s next week’s post sorted thank you.
Look forward to reading that Lynn! xx
I published it today…
The Body Keeps the Score is priceless - changed my life.
I haven’t actually read it 😱
I had better get reading it hadn't I?! xx

Thanks for reading, Wendy! Glad you enjoyed it!
All his books are just perfect aren't they Wendy? But that one is the best I think. xx
